The attack comes after a White House official said that Iran was preparing an imminent ballistic missile attack against Israel. @everyone The Israeli military said it had launched “limited, localized and targeted raids” against Hezbollah in southern Lebanon overnight Monday. The invasion is being supported by the Israeli air force and artillery, the Israel Defense Forces said. Earlier in the day, Israel told Washington that its planned ground operation would be smaller than its last war against Hezbollah in 2006 and would focus on clearing out militant infrastructure along the border to remove the threat to Israeli border communities, a U.S. official said, speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss private talks between the two governments.

@everyone Coca-Cola is facing boycott calls from Christians after a Facebook user, Antwoine Hill, posted a video showing his unsuccessful attempt to create a custom Coke can with the word "Jesus."
In the video, Hill demonstrated how Coca-Cola’s customization machine allowed names like “Allah,” “Buddha,” and “Satan,” but rejected “Jesus,” displaying an error message: “Sadly, we cannot automatically allow this text on the can! If you feel this is a mistake, please speak to a store representative.”
Hill’s video quickly sparked outrage on X, formerly Twitter, with hundreds of Christians claiming they would no longer support the company.
Coca-Cola’s website states: “Names and phrases may not be approved if they are trademarked, political in nature, names of countries, celebrities, religious figures, as well as anything that could be considered offensive for other reasons. Oftentimes, a name might be accepted if you add a last name to the submission.”
Antwoine Hill, the original instigator of the controversy through his Facebook video, clarified that he does not see this as Christian persecution. In a comment on his post, he explained, “The only name that gets this much backlash and hate is the name of Jesus.”

@everyone Today marks the 1st anniversary of when a group of armed serbian militants attacked the kosovar police and KFOR troops in the village of Banjska in north Kosovo near Zveçan. In this attack the militants were able to kill police officer Afrim Bunjaku who is now a hero to the Albanian people.
However despite this the kosovar police were able to defeat the militants killing 3 as and injuring 2-6 and siezing all if their vehicles
KFOR allowed the rest of the militants to escape into Serbia including the leader Milan Radoičić who is walking as a free man, however now a court case will begin to arrest Radoičić.

@everyone An unpublished piece of music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, likely composed during his adolescence, has been discovered in a German library by researchers.
Dating to the mid- to late-1760s, the piece is a string trio of about 12 minutes, divided into seven short movements. The manuscript was not written directly by the composer, but is believed to be a copy made around 1780.
The discovery was made during the compilation of the latest edition of the Köchel catalogue, the definitive archive of his works. Until now, the young Mozart was known primarily for his piano compositions, arias, and symphonies. However, a list left by his father indicated the existence of many chamber music compositions, thought to be lost, until the discovery of this string trio.

@everyone David Graham, the actor known for voicing characters in iconic TV series such as Peppa Pig, Thunderbirds, and Doctor Who, has passed away at the age of 99.
Graham famously voiced the menacing Daleks in Doctor Who, striking fear into generations of children from the 1960s to the late '70s.

@everyone Earth will get a second moon for about two months this year when a small asteroid begins to orbit our planet. The asteroid was discovered in August and is set to become a mini-moon, revolving around Earth in a horseshoe shape from Sept. 29 to Nov. 25.
Researchers at the Asteroid Terrestrial-impact Last Alert System, an asteroid monitoring system funded by NASA, spotted the asteroid using an instrument in Sutherland, South Africa and labeled it 2024 PT5.

@everyone Hand-held radios used by Lebanese armed group Hezbollah detonated on Wednesday across Lebanon's south, in Beirut suburbs and the Bekaa Valley, further stoking tensions with Israel a day after similar explosions by the group's pagers.
Lebanon's health ministry said 14 people had been killed and 450 injured on Wednesday, while the death toll from Tuesday's explosions rose to 12, including two children, with nearly 3,000 injured.
At least one of Wednesday's blasts took place near a funeral organised by Iran-backed Hezbollah for those killed the previous day when thousands of pagers used by the group exploded across the country and wounded many of its fighters.
A Reuters reporter in the southern suburbs of Beirut said he saw Hezbollah members frantically taking batteries out of any walkie-talkies on them that had not exploded, tossing the parts in metal barrels.
Lebanon's Red Cross said on X that it was responding with 30 ambulance teams to multiple explosions in different areas, including the south of Lebanon and the Bekaa Valley.
Hezbollah, which was thrown briefly into disarray by the pager attacks, said on Wednesday it had attacked Israeli artillery positions with rockets, the first strike at its arch-foe since the blasts, which raised the prospect of a wider Middle East war.
The Israeli military said warning sirens sounded a number of times in northern Israel but there were no reports of any damage or casualties.
Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant said on Wednesday the centre of gravity of the war was moving north, where Lebanon borders Israel, with more troops and resources being transferred to the area.
"We are opening a new phase in the war. It requires courage, determination and perseverance from us," he said, in remarks at an air force base.

@everyone Sean “Diddy” Combs was arrested in Manhattan on Monday evening after a grand jury indicted the hip-hop mogul, authorities said. The arrest follows Homeland Security’s raids on the Bad Boy founder’s homes in late March, seemingly triggered by a wave of sexual abuse lawsuits against him.
It was last November that Combs’ former girlfriend, the R&B singer Casandra “Cassie” Ventura, filed an explosive sex trafficking and abuse lawsuit against him that made global headline. He reached a private settlement with her one day later, but the legal fallout only grew. Eight more women and one man have since come forward to sue Combs with allegations ranging from sex trafficking to sexual assault.
The exact charges Combs is now facing were not revealed Monday night, but the prosecution is being led by the Southern District of New York, who confirmed the news. “Earlier this evening, federal agents arrested Sean Combs, based on a sealed indictment filed by the SDNY,” Damian Williams, the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District, said in a statement. “We expect to move to unseal the indictment in the morning and will have more to say at that time.”
