@everyone Today marks the 1st anniversary of when a group of armed serbian militants attacked the kosovar police and KFOR troops in the village of Banjska in north Kosovo near Zveçan. In this attack the militants were able to kill police officer Afrim Bunjaku who is now a hero to the Albanian people.
However despite this the kosovar police were able to defeat the militants killing 3 as and injuring 2-6 and siezing all if their vehicles
KFOR allowed the rest of the militants to escape into Serbia including the leader Milan Radoičić who is walking as a free man, however now a court case will begin to arrest Radoičić.

@everyone An unpublished piece of music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, likely composed during his adolescence, has been discovered in a German library by researchers.
Dating to the mid- to late-1760s, the piece is a string trio of about 12 minutes, divided into seven short movements. The manuscript was not written directly by the composer, but is believed to be a copy made around 1780.
The discovery was made during the compilation of the latest edition of the Köchel catalogue, the definitive archive of his works. Until now, the young Mozart was known primarily for his piano compositions, arias, and symphonies. However, a list left by his father indicated the existence of many chamber music compositions, thought to be lost, until the discovery of this string trio.

@everyone An unpublished piece of music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, likely composed during his adolescence, has been discovered in a German library by researchers.
Dating to the mid- to late-1760s, the piece is a string trio of about 12 minutes, divided into seven short movements. The manuscript was not written directly by the composer, but is believed to be a copy made around 1780.
The discovery was made during the compilation of the latest edition of the Köchel catalogue, the definitive archive of his works. Until now, the young Mozart was known primarily for his piano compositions, arias, and symphonies. However, a list left by his father indicated the existence of many chamber music compositions, thought to be lost, until the discovery of this string trio.

@everyone Earth will get a second moon for about two months this year when a small asteroid begins to orbit our planet. The asteroid was discovered in August and is set to become a mini-moon, revolving around Earth in a horseshoe shape from Sept. 29 to Nov. 25.
Researchers at the Asteroid Terrestrial-impact Last Alert System, an asteroid monitoring system funded by NASA, spotted the asteroid using an instrument in Sutherland, South Africa and labeled it 2024 PT5.

@everyone Hand-held radios used by Lebanese armed group Hezbollah detonated on Wednesday across Lebanon's south, in Beirut suburbs and the Bekaa Valley, further stoking tensions with Israel a day after similar explosions by the group's pagers.
Lebanon's health ministry said 14 people had been killed and 450 injured on Wednesday, while the death toll from Tuesday's explosions rose to 12, including two children, with nearly 3,000 injured.
At least one of Wednesday's blasts took place near a funeral organised by Iran-backed Hezbollah for those killed the previous day when thousands of pagers used by the group exploded across the country and wounded many of its fighters.
A Reuters reporter in the southern suburbs of Beirut said he saw Hezbollah members frantically taking batteries out of any walkie-talkies on them that had not exploded, tossing the parts in metal barrels.
Lebanon's Red Cross said on X that it was responding with 30 ambulance teams to multiple explosions in different areas, including the south of Lebanon and the Bekaa Valley.
Hezbollah, which was thrown briefly into disarray by the pager attacks, said on Wednesday it had attacked Israeli artillery positions with rockets, the first strike at its arch-foe since the blasts, which raised the prospect of a wider Middle East war.
The Israeli military said warning sirens sounded a number of times in northern Israel but there were no reports of any damage or casualties.
Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant said on Wednesday the centre of gravity of the war was moving north, where Lebanon borders Israel, with more troops and resources being transferred to the area.
"We are opening a new phase in the war. It requires courage, determination and perseverance from us," he said, in remarks at an air force base.

@everyone Australia plans to set a minimum age limit for children to use social media citing concerns about mental and physical health, sparking a backlash from digital rights advocates who warn the measure could drive dangerous online activity underground.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said his centre-left government would run an age verification trial before introducing age minimum laws for social media this year.
Albanese didn't specify an age but said it would likely be between 14 and 16.
"I want to see kids off their devices and onto the footy fields and the swimming pools and the tennis courts," Albanese told the Australian Broadcasting Corp.
"We want them to have real experiences with real people because we know that social media is causing social harm," he added.
The law would put Australia among the first countries in the world to impose an age restriction on social media. Previous attempts, including by the European Union, have failed following complaints about reducing the online rights of minors.
